    Cerdo Ibérico asilvestrado y jabalí

    Extremadura es la región de España con mayor superficie potencial para la cria de cerdos ibericos asilvestrados.

    La crianza del cerdo asilvestrado en el bosque de encinas recibe el nombre de montanera.

    Los alimentos que el cerdo ingesta en ese bosque son silvestres siendo la bellota el más conocido pero no el único.

    El cerdo se alimenta también de raices frescas y verdes que huele ,excarba con su hocico, a semejanza del jabalí.

    También consume leguminosas silvestres y grano silvestre.

    La mejor forma de entender que es lo que pasa en ese período, es recordar las series de Félix Rodriguez de la Fuente, cuando la ocasión que aprovechaban los lobos para cazar al jabalí era el momento en el que bajaba del monte al valle, buscando riachuelos cerca de los cuales pudiera encontrar raices y tallos verdes.

    Hablando de la dehesa existe un factor primordial del que se habla muy poco en los artículos de divulgación, y es el agua y la forma en la que se distribuye por la dehesa, anque esto es objeto de otro artículo.
